Scrolling through my Instagram feed, I was struck by how many vinyl addicts with immaculate audio gear have awesome record collections sitting on the floor. I decided to design this elevated take on the classic milk crate as a distinctive, finely crafted solution for record storage.
I specifically sized this crate to fit records - as it turns out, those handy old plastic milk crates don't comfortably fit records; they always end up stuck at an angle. My design ensures your records fit perfectly in the width and stick up just a tad for quick, easy browsing.
The Record Crate design has progressed through various stages over the past couple months. From an idea to a sketch to a fully built piece I went through several prototype builds, fine-tuning the construction details from one to the next.
I'm now offering these early prototypes at 20% off the full retail price. You'll get the same, handmade, top quality Record Crate, with just a couple of older details: no notched edges on the wood where the steel elbows sit, and slightly different screw patterns.
The Record Crate Prototype is available in warm cherry with darkened steel; light ash with shiny, brushed steel; or java stained ash with blackened steel. Choose one that complements your setup best, or a set to stack!
The bottom panel on one side features my Eric B. vinyl collection logo burned with a custom branding iron, along with the fitting slogan: "Treat your records right!"
